Flowers

It's spring and you can really feel it here. The sun is out, the days are longer, the garden is exploding with colour, it's the start of school holidays, Floriade is on and it's a long weekend!!!
So I 'accidentally' bought a whole lot of flowery material from Addicted to Fabric when I was supposed to be buying elastic for my sewing dare and zippers for fete craft.
Would it be weird to have both a skirt & a jacket out of this fabric..
I have in mind another O'keefe skirt  and a Tessuti tokyo jacket to be worn casually with jeans. Ok the fabric isn't exactly the drape required for the jacket but I have a vision of this as my go to Spring jacket on weekends.  Sadly they won't be worn together... as the silhouettes won't really match - though you never know!

First things first... off to the hairdressers.

Oh and I am keeping up with the Cami sewalong and on my sewing dare is progressing - the orphan sequins lying around the house are testament to this.

  3. I bought the same fabric from Tessuti! It sold out quickly I think. I made a Belladone with it - it is stunning fabric! Can I ask how much per metre it is at A2F?

  4. Ooh I have some of this fabric too (bought mine at Tessuti's a few months ago though). I'll bet you use yours before I use mine! Did you see Rachel's dress? Oh I see she's already commented :)

  5. I just saw your Belladone!! Wow it is so so gorgeous. I think it was about $29 a metre, but it might have been a bit cheaper. I bought 3 metres and am wondering whether I should go back for more - although it is probably weird to have a whole wardrobe make out of this fabric. It is such a great weight isn't it!

  6. oh so lovely! And spring in Canberra sounds like it's getting started beautifully. Here it feels like summer hardly got going before it was over... not ready for autumn yet at all! I'll just live vicariously through your floral wardrobe :-)

  7. It is THE dreamiest fabric! I paid $32/m - I think if A2F had it cheaper I'd be on the phone ... I would love more! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  8. The O'keefe skirt will look great in this fabric and I'm interested to see how the jacket comes out (I can always use a good jacket pattern since our office is cold in winter and summer). Happy long weekend!
